All these years and the unimaginable happens. Every prayer and every dream wrapped up into the service and dedication given in nearly 2 decades to support the man we call husband and father, the means by which he would take care of our family and honor the name and virtues of our country that stands for FREEDOM our "AMERICA"; Where we are free to choose and act for ourself. A land prepared for that very purpose. The only agency I see that is free is the act that was thought of and yet not acted upon because of selflessness. It is a fact that cannot be contested indeed that all choices affect someone, something, somewhere, somehow.
Do civilians really realize the price that is paid for this? While they sit around the table and chat amongst childhood friends, the children of those who suffer the parental longing and longtime stabilities can merely recall the face of the friend they once had, somewhere, when they lived "there" for a small space and time and a couple of years.
Needless to say, we are thankful that we didn't lose the one we have always loved and stood beside.
