Jonathan and Chelsea MVHS Prom 2009

"Parents hold their children's hands for a while, their hearts forever" My dear mother-in-law Claudia, who I miss dearly gave us a little plaque one year with this saying on it. Jonathan was just 2 years old at that time. She died later the next year, but I still hang the plaque where it will remind me of all the things she shared with me. So many of those things have become a reality in my life. Even though she is not with us, I know that in many ways she is. Of all the things she shared with me in her wisdom, this one small statement rings true to today. "Parents hold their children's hands for a while, their hearts forever" Especially when I see that little boy becoming a man. I know that nothing matters more than my family, and I know that my babies will grow-up but that the memories we make will transcend all that seems fleeting after time passes and I long for "The Days When". The people they will become, their relationships within our family, the husband's/ (Wife) and father's /(Mother) they will become. Those things I know will create new memories and will fill the voids and longing of "Those Days When". No other success in life can compensate for failure in the home." -- David O. McKay (1873-1970)
