"Preserving the Good Fruits"
The message was from the Presidency, it was basically about facilitating time & opportunities to make memories and teach our children, which is something I feel really strongly about but anyways, back to my point. -It was a very good lesson.
So, before it began, during the announcements, they mentioned flats of PEARS that were available for purchase. Then someone said they would be happy to help anyone who wanted to buy some but didn't know how to can, or simply needed some help if necessary. Then the RS Pres. said that for a while it seemed as though it was easier to not can at the convenience of just picking-up what you needed from the store. However, canning is like a dying art and if we don't learn it and use it, we will one day lose it.
Later in the lesson as the Sister spoke about families, I had a thought about our culture. "Family" in our culture, is like a dying art form. If we don't cultivate those skills that form strong family units, "Families" as we know it will become obsolete, to not only our culture but our Society as a whole. Thus accommodating a long term plan of the Adversary to destroy the FAMILY. I never thought of it that way. Because long term, the more divorce becomes the normal, the fewer children will grow up with an understanding and concept of how to actually have and maintain a family. The more people that fall away from the church, also will assist in the destruction of that Holy Institution.
Sonya says, Family is like Canning and it is becoming a dying art of our culture.
...We should call the Art of FAMILIES "Preserving the Good Fruit".
